How comfort works in Valheim
Meadows
Five comfort is a roof, a campfire, a bed and a deer hide. That is the whole Meadows ceiling and you can hit it on day one.

What is max comfort in Valheim?
Twenty two, from furniture you can build any time. The Maypole and the Yule Tree add one each during their events, which is the only way to see 24.
How long does Rested last at max comfort?
Twenty nine minutes at 22 comfort, and 31 at 24. The rule is your comfort number plus seven.
Does building two thrones give me more comfort?
No. Every item belongs to a group and only your best piece in each group counts. A second throne is decoration.
How close does the furniture have to be?
Within ten metres of the spot where you sit or lie down, measured in any direction. Sit still for about twenty seconds to pick the buff up.
What is the best comfort setup in the Black Forest?
Thirteen: a roof, a campfire, a bed, a bearskin rug, a chair, a table, a banner, a flower garland, an item stand and a barber station.
Can I hide comfort items under the floor?
Yes. The ten metres is a ball around you, not a flat circle, so a rug in a shallow pit or a lantern on the floor above still counts. Plenty of people bury the ugly pieces.
Why did my comfort drop on its own?
Usually the fire burned out or the hot tub cooled down. Both stop counting the moment they go cold, and walking out of the ten metre circle does the same.
