Privacy Policy

Valheim Atlas is a community archive of Valheim world seeds. You can read every public page without an account. You only need to sign in to submit a seed or keep a profile.

What we store

If you sign in with Google, we store your Google account identifier, your email address, and the display name and profile picture URL that Google gives us. We never receive or store your Google password.

If you finish setting up a profile, we also store the username, display name and short biography you choose, and whether you have marked your profile public or private.

If you submit a seed, we store the seed code, its title and description, and a link from that seed to your account. Everything you submit is meant to be public, and is shown next to your username.

When you generate a world in your browser, your browser keeps a copy of that world’s map data on your own machine, so opening the same seed again is fast. That copy never leaves your machine and we never receive it. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it.

What we do not do

• We run no advertising scripts and no advertising cookies. We do measure how the site is used, and the section below says exactly how and how to switch it off.
• We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
• We never send your name, your email address or your account to any analytics service.
• We do not read your Valheim save files or anything on your computer.
• We do not send marketing email.

Measuring how the site is used

We use two tools to see how the site is used, so we know what to build next. Neither of them is given your name, your email address or your account.

Google Analytics records the pages you open and a short list of things you do on them: which filter you changed, a search that found nothing, a seed string copied, the map view switched, landmarks turned on, the spoiler blur lifted, and how long a world took to generate. It stores cookies in your browser to tell one visit from the next. Google receives this and their own privacy policy covers it.

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views only. It sets no cookies and does not follow you between sites.

To switch Google Analytics off, open this link. That browser then sends us nothing, on any network, until you clear this site’s data. Nothing else about the site changes. This link switches it back on. Cloudflare’s page count cannot be switched off from here, because it runs before the page reaches your browser.

Cookies

We set one cookie of our own, and only after you sign in. It holds your session so you stay signed in between pages. Signing out clears it.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies as soon as you open a page, to tell one visit from the next. Switching it off with the link above stops them. There are no advertising cookies of any kind, and nothing here follows you to other websites.

Who else is involved

Google handles sign-in, so Google knows you signed in here, and Google Analytics receives the usage described above. Cloudflare serves the site and counts page views. Our site and database run on hosting providers who store the data on our behalf and do not use it for anything else. Some pages link to game-server hosting companies; if you follow one of those links and buy something, we may earn a referral fee. Those companies never receive your account data from us.

Deleting your data

Write to [email protected] from the email address on your account and we will delete your account and your profile. Tell us in the same message whether you want the seeds you submitted removed as well, or left in place without your name on them. We answer within 30 days.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep an account for one. Write to us and we will remove it.

Changes to this page

If what we store changes, we update this page and change the date at the top. See also our terms of use.
