How to enter a seed on Xbox and PlayStation

On console you cannot install mods or open your save files, so typing the seed code by hand is the only way to land in a specific world. It takes about a minute.

1. Start creating a new world

Not joining one. The seed can only be set when the world is first made, and a world’s seed can never be changed afterwards.

2. Find the seed field on the world creation screen

Valheim fills it with a random code of its own. Clear it before you type.

3. Type the code exactly, including capital letters

HHcLC5acQt and hhclc5acqtare two completely different worlds. There is no paste on console, so check the code character by character before you continue — this is where nearly every “the seed didn’t work” report comes from.

4. Create the world and check the spawn

If the landmarks around you do not match what the seed’s page describes, the code went in wrong. Delete the world and retype it; nothing is lost this early.

Two things worth knowing

A seed decides the shape of the world, not what has been built in it. Everyone using the same code gets the same map and their own empty version of it.

The seed also carries across platforms, so a code shared by a PC player produces the same world on your console.
